Program
JULIDANS 2026: 2-14 JULY
We are proud and delighted to present the program of the 36th edition of Julidans. With honesty and sincerity, choreographers from across the world, established and emerging, make the invisible visible in their latest works. Because dance can give expression to ideas where words fall short: about love, beauty, grief, origin, hope and connection.
-|-Below you will find the program. A mix of stunning, raw, energetic and musical performances: Straight from the Heart. To help you fully immerse yourself in the festival, we are introducing a multi-show discount this year: book 2 different performances and receive 10% off, book 3 or more and receive 20% off.
JULIDANS ON STAGE
Julidans ON STAGE presents performances of varying scale and style, at different venues across the city. In large venues such as ITA and De Meervaart, you can enjoy companies with large-scale productions. Medium-sized venues, including Theater Bellevue, Brakke Grond and Frascati 1, provide a space for artists working on a smaller or more intimate scale. In the smaller venues – such as Frascati 2, Podium Mozaïek and the Bijlmer Parktheater – there is room for both a new generation of choreographers and established choreographers creating solos or duets.
JULIDANS OPEN AIR
The OPEN AIR category encompasses all performances and workshops taking place outdoors, for example in a square or at the Vondelpark Open-Air Theatre. Here you will experience dance differently than in a theatre: in a public space, where the surroundings become part of the performance and the impact is often even more intense.
JULIDANS NEXT
A new generation takes to the stage under the Julidans NEXTlabel. Here you can see performances by emerging talent, often staged in smaller venues. These performances also combine well with other parts of the programme.
JULIDANS NL
In collaboration with the Performing Arts Fund Internationalisation, Julidans presents, under the Julidans NLlabel, a series of performances produced in the Netherlands by choreographers who live and work here. Creations that fit seamlessly into the Julidans programme and are ready to cross the border.
JULIDANS CONTEXT
What have you just seen or experienced? Julidans performances frequently raise questions, spark the imagination and encourage reflection. The context programme helps you to deepen that experience, with, among other things, introductions and post-performance discussions that place the work in a broader perspective.
