Choreographer Marco da Silva Ferreira, who hails from the club scene, is a master at mixing genres. In the outdoor location performance Fantasie Minor he juxtaposes the romantic sounds of Schubert's four-handed piano piece with the four feet of two hip-hop dancers, trained in battles and freestyle. A story is unfolding that goes way beyond the culture clash.

The performance Fantasie Minor by Marco da Silva Ferreira cannot take place due to an injury, instead dancer Anka Postic will show an improvisation from personal work.

Dazzling piano choreography for four hands and four feet

In the playful duet of two young urban dancers, choreographed by Marco da Silva Ferreira, the inherent lightness and joy of dance lies hidden. In Fantasie Minor, inspired by the score of Schubert's Fantaisie in F minor D.940, Chloé Robidoux and Anka Postic, close childhood friends, take you on a journey of discovery through the various facets and gestural codes of house and classical dance. The limited space of the outdoor venue forces them to interact closely, further challenging their creativity and abilities.

With infectious fun, they play with gender codes and choreographic clichés. Dressed in caps, white T-shirts, shorts and thick black boots, they move synchronously across the stage, almost like in a boxing ring. But as the choreography progresses, it goes beyond just 'conquering'; a profound emotional openness emerges.

Da Silva Ferreira unhesitatingly combines house and hip-hop, dance hall and classical, to give dance an urgent vitality. With Fantasie Minor, he creates a rite of passage between extremes, which is stressed by Schubert's piece, the last he composed before his death at the age of 31. Remixed with urban and techno, the music runs through various moods, constantly encouraging the dancers to balance between extremes.
