Shake Shake Shake
Six performers – dancers and musicians – share the stage, presenting music and movement on a completely equal footing. They sing, play, jump, fly over each other’s instruments and, moments later, find themselves in a duet that suddenly cuts to the core with quiet precision. No wonder the show was showered with superlatives. A performance that works like an antidote.
After seven years, Shake Shake Shake returns to the stage - with the same cast. What began as a cheerful rebellion against social pressure, expectations and external noise now takes on a new meaning. Perhaps less reckless than before, but no less urgent.
-|-It is all about being stuck and breaking free. About the feeling of living vicariously, and what happens when you resist it. Music becomes a driving force at this point: something that uplifts, carries you along, sets you in motion. What you see is simple and direct: performing together, moving together, and slowly breaking open restraints. Until something starts to give way. And you go along with it – quite instinctively.

De Dansers
The company De Dansers is a dynamic collective of dancers and musicians from Utrecht, led by choreographer and dancer Josephine van Rheenen and composer and musician Guy Corneille. De Dansers believe that true connection begins in the body. In a world increasingly dominated by screens, they create physical, musical performances that let the body speak.
De Dansers’ performances tell accessible, intuitively compelling stories of liberation and surrender, in which playful anarchism is never far away. They shake loose what is fixed or add a quiet focus where attention is needed. The dancers work with rhythm, touch and surrender, creating art that lifts you out of everyday life. It is an experience for children, for whose imagination is still far more persuasive than logic, and for whom movement comes naturally. And for adults, whose bodies have sometimes forgotten what they once knew: how it feels to fall, to touch, to play, to live.
