Love skating and not afraid of being on stage? Between 8 and 30 years old and some experience on a skateboard? Mette Ingvartsen will come to Amsterdam with the performance Skatepark on July 15th & 16th. By participating in the free workshop on May 4th at House of Urban Sports you have a chance to participate in the performance.
Legend has it that skateboarding was born on a day when low waves forced surfers in Los Angeles to take to the asphalt. Skating grew into a remarkable choreography in public space, which is now firmly anchored in urban culture, including in Amsterdam.

In Skatepark, choreographer Mette Ingvartsen explores the speed and energy of movement on wheels - a physical memory from her own childhood. She works with a permanent group of skaters and dancers and makes room for local skaters. During the workshop we discover the power of the local community and we will be working together on the opening scene of the performance that will be performed during Julidans in Amsterdam.
The workshop takes place on the 4th of May, 10:00 - 13:00 at House of Urban Sports.
